Welcome to the Neurocritical Care Follow-Up Program
Research shows that children who survive serious illness are at risk for developing delays or experiencing changes in their learning skills, memory and behavior. In addition, some children need time to recover their strength and coordination, have their breathing return to normal, or regain function in other organs. Treatment for these changes, including physical therapy, mental health support or school modifications can improve the recovery process.
The St. Louis Children’s Hospital Neurocritical Care Follow-up Program (NCFP) is one of the few programs in the country dedicated to helping kids and families overcome these issues and get back to school, work and regular routines as soon as possible. Our goal is to make sure your child has the best possible recovery after a critical illness.
